THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE
The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls; when he finds one of great value he goes and sells everything he owns and buys it. from this Sunday's Gospel (Matt.13,46)
This little figure is so pretty, I keep coming back to look at it! I find it very moving, particularly it's simplicity. My granny told my Mum that pearls were the Virgin's tears: Mum would never wear her string of pearls because she believed they brought sadness. I now have them and love their lustre and how tactile they are. I always think true friends are like pearls; you can culture and even create a friendship, but the most precious ones are always just naturally there, waiting to be found.
