In case anyone hadn't noticed, we've now finished the refurbishment of our Hospitality Centre, so there's only the trappings to be put in. Here we provide you with a unique opportunity to see the team at work. The crockery and cutlery for the new kitchen has arrived, and it's all got to be unpacked, washed and put away. They've only been here for two hours, and they've already got the coffee out. Peter's on the floor wrestling with a flatpack, and it looks as if the flatpack's ahead on points. Margaret is maintaining communication with the world outside. Meanwhile Lesley's arrived to see that everything's being done properly. The others are making decisions.

I now realise that a bonafide DIY session always involves one poor soul kneeling over a flatpack, someone being on the 'phone and a collective of People Who Make Decisions.
Someone told me I would like the new chairs and I do. The smile on Father Danny's face actually says "I've been working very hard, this is rather comfortable; I have no intention of moving for some time". Although I wouldn't argue with formidable ladies like Cathy and Claire intent on furniture-arranging. It's great that the parishioners have been able to select the furnishings so the refurbished rooms can be bright and welcoming as well as functional. These chairs are probably deceptively pretty: they look quite ergonomically comfortable. Can't wait to try one; if they're not all occupied by resident clergy...
