A MEMORY OF A RATHER DIFFERENT KIND

As a complete contrast to the celebrations in Westminster, two members of the Parish went to Redlynch Village Hall last week to hear The Frenzied and The Diligent play vajazzle (a variety of jazz and skiffle),  and to remember some stars of the past, including the great Lonnie Donegan.

I wonder which two un-named parishioners they were? : ) Sounds like a great evening out. Lonnie Donegan was indeed brilliant. I love skiffle; my uncle played the washboard with thimbles like a master. Skiffle's a real hybrid of blues, jazz, folk and country. Even the man Van Morrison started out playing it, and look what happened to John Lennon's Quarrymen. A lot of busking bands here seem to be playing skiffle on improvised instruments again, so maybe we're in for a revival.

Um . . . not sure who's been winding you up, but vajazzle is most certainly not a mix of jazz and skiffle. You need to watch the Only Way is Essex to understand!!!!
